So what exactly are decorative landscaping rocks? & How can they benefit your landscape? It is important to clearly make this distinction here before getting into the big rock discussion (though), since most people's perception of decorative landscaping stones tends to run more along the lines of "small pebbles to annoy me, get stuck in my shoes, & make my landscaping more difficult."

What are decorative rocks? Basically, these are all types of natural or artificial stones, including sand, pebbles, slate, etc., which are used as garden or landscape features. They can be used to improve garden or landscape design, to create visual focal points or decorative elements in a landscape, or to provide additional benefits such as water drainage. In other words, they are not "all about" rocks anymore!

There are many benefits to using decorative landscaping stones, including: increasing the value of your home; adding visual interest & color to your landscape; creating aesthetic and artistic focal points in a landscape; providing additional benefits such as soil drainage or better water circulation, etc. Some of these stones can even have special properties, such as improved soil drainage.

The first type of decorative landscape rocks you may hear about are granite, marble, limestone, sandstone, slate, etc. These stones are very durable, but are also very expensive. And because they can be so expensive, they tend to be left for decorative purposes on the backs of patios, driveways, steps, etc.

You will see decorative rock on lawns, pathways, walkways, retaining walls, in parks, gardens, etc. These rocks can be found in different colors, styles, shapes, textures, etc. There is no "one size fits all", as is often the case with other decorative pieces such as statues or sculptures.

Decorative landscaping stone can be made from many different natural materials, including sandstone, granite, marble, limestone, slate, etc. And it can also be made from synthetic materials. For example, you may see decorative stones made from metal, porcelain, glass, wood, ceramic, quartz, plastic, etc. Some rocks may even be "natural stones" that have been recycled to form a decorative piece, while others may be artificial.

Decorative rocks are typically found in landscapes where they will accent the landscape, add visual appeal, or be used as focal points or decorative items. But they can also be used to create a border, as a feature or for other functions, such as providing water drainage.

If you are looking for decorative landscapers' rock for your garden or landscape, take some time to browse the internet or look at some landscapers' websites and see what is available. And do keep in mind that you can always contact a landscaper that specializes in landscaping stones for your specific project.

There are also some rocks that are more expensive than others, such as those that are larger, have a larger surface area, or ones that are of a certain color or style. For instance, many people prefer to use granite in their landscape and stones such as this can range in price depending on the type of granite used. The price of these types of rocks can also depend on how many are used to make a border, such as the size of the stones and what other materials are used to form the border.

Decorative rocks should not be confused with other decorative landscaping tools, such as sand, gravel, stones, plants, and shrubs. Rocks used to create landscaping borders are usually considered decorative landscape tools, whereas other tools are designed to enhance the overall beauty of the landscaping area.

Decorative rocks are also great as landscaping accents. They add value to your landscaping and increase its overall appearance, which is why they are so popular in homes and businesses.

Decorative rocks can also be used as a part of a landscape design or as a part of a border. As long as you select a type of stone that will accentuate your yard, you can create an attractive, elegant, decorative look, and add value to your property.
